This 4 chamber TEE view shows a large circular mass in the right atrium which prolapses across the tricuspid valve into the right atrium. This mass was consistent with a renal cell carcinoma based both on other radiology studies and by findings at the time of surgery. Renal cell can sometimes extend directly from the kidney up the IVC into the right atrium.

Note the several areas with different echodensity suggesting the mass is heterogenous, likely with areas of necrosis and hemorrhage.

The mass in this individual extends from the IVC into the RA and then across the RV.

Note how the RA has enlarged. There is some degree of functional tricuspis stenosis in atrial systole with turbulent flow around the mass in ventricular diastole. There is also some TR shown here in systole as the mass floats back into the right atrium.
